Young Minds operates as a dynamic activity hub for children, youth, and families six days a week, all year round. Our services encompass after-school programs, academic tutoring, a computer lab, workforce development, career assistance, and financial literacy and education. Each of these services is meticulously designed to tackle poverty and educational gaps — the root causes of significant community challenges like gang involvement and crime.
Young Minds was initially envisioned as a safe space where individuals of all ethnicities, races, and religions could unite under one roof. The goal is to share a vision for a stronger, more self-reliant community and to assist in turning the dreams of struggling local youth and adults into reality.
Guide students in learning about entrepreneurship while they develop crucial social and emotional learning skills.
At Young Minds, we envision a community where young individuals aged between fifteen and twenty-five not only dream big but also possess the skills and confidence to turn these dreams into reality.
We foster a supportive environment where young business enthusiasts can learn, experiment, and grow. Participants are introduced to the ins and outs of running a business, gaining invaluable insights into management, budgeting, and investments.
Understanding money is essential. We offer classes conducted by seasoned professionals from financial institutions, covering crucial topics like budget planning and the art of making money work for you.
Leadership is at the core of success. Young Minds engages participants in activities and discussions that instill leadership qualities, emphasizing the importance of leading by example and making informed decisions.
Art Squad is a unique assembly of artists and businesses. It functions as a mobile outdoor flea market, facilitating pop-ups that bring quality goods directly to the community. The squad also organizes bus tours, promoting and supporting small businesses through purchases and advertising, shining a light on the fantastic local enterprises around.
